We have decided to set up a junior orchestra for those new to orchestra for this year. To Apply please submit audio recording playing one jig to ceolorchestra@gmail.com
We will begin with rehearsals in Ballintogher Enterprise Centre on Sunday Oct 13th and on the following dates:
Sunday Oct 13th 6:15pm to 7:45pm
Sunday Nov 10th 6:15pm to 7:45pm
Sat Nov 16th - time tbc
Sunday Nov 24th 6:15pm to 7:45pm
Sunday Dec 8th 6:15pm to 7:45pm
Jan to April dates tbc -
Final concert of year Thur 24th April 2025 (not confirmed yet).
The focus of the orchestra will be to develop repertoire, develop musical skills, provide an opportunity for children and those new to orchestra to socialise and play music together.
Requirement for those interested is to be playing a jig and a few basic reels well. This orchestra is suitable for children aged 10 to 16 who have been playing for a minimum of 2 years. It is be expected that the junior orchestra would perform a set at the end of year concert in April.
Audition is required to join the junior orchestra. Orchestra is suitable for those playing melody instruments only (eg flute, fiddle, banjo, accordion, TW). At this time we are not auditioning for percussion, guitar, piano).
